WE DON’T HAVE THE SAME BAPTISM

Bryan Matthew Dockens

Because there is only “one baptism” that God approves (Ephesians 4:4-6), any baptism that does not fit the description provided in Scripture must be rejected.

I believe my sins were remitted when I was baptized (Acts 2:38).  If you believe the Lord took away your sins before you were baptized, we don’t have the same baptism.

I believe I became new in baptism (Romans 6:3-6).  If you believe you became new with faith and baptism came later, we don’t have the same baptism.

I believe I entered the body of Christ, which is the church (Ephesians 1:22-23) when I was baptized (1st Corinthians 12:13).  If you believe you were in the church before you were baptized, we don’t have the same baptism.

I believe I was clothed with Christ when I was baptized (Galatians 3:27).  If you believe you were in Christ before you were baptized, we don’t have the same baptism.

I believe I died and was buried when I was baptized (Colossians 2:12).  If you believe you were dead to sin and alive to Christ before you were baptized, we don’t have the same baptism.

I believe I was saved when I was baptized (1st Peter 3:21).  If you believe you were saved before you were baptized, we don’t have the same baptism.

If your baptism wasn’t the one taught by Christ and His apostles, then you need a new one (Acts 19:1-5).
